Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she could write and read, she was making up her own songs. When she was eight, she bought the first electric guitar she owned and began singing on a Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. Her first album was recorded in the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a small independent label. Although she became an established local celebrity while at the high school years, her ambitions were greater. The year 1964 was the day that followed her graduation from high school the singer moved to Nashville. Her first charting records with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time was searching for a girl to sing for his program. Parton was offered the gig in 1967 and signed with RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The year 1974 was the first that she decided to leave Wagoner's show because the success of her own solo records such as Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene was outstripping their joint efforts. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their collaboration with Wagoner she wrote the song"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and saw it climb to No. 1 for the first time in 1974.
